- Always use suction size is greater or equal to discharge size. If suction size is greater than delivery size good for pump life.
- Always try to avoid maximum number of fitting (like bend, reducer) in suction side.
- Try to use strainer in suction of pump for safety of pump.
- Try to use minimum distance minimum length of suction pipe.
- Do a proper SOP for pump on/off.
- Always give a pressure gauge on discharge of pump. This is necessary to check whether pump is running properly or not with the help of pressure.
- Do proper calculations for NPSHR.
