Types of valve and their uses :-
Valve is used in chemical industry as well as pharmaceutical, petrochemical, Dynes,oil and gas and much more.The main use of valve is control the flow or stop the flow. Using valve we can control the flow of solid powder , liquid and gas.

The main types of valve are ball valve ,globe valve,gate valve, butterfly valve, needle valve, check valve,strainer ,trap valve, pressure relief valve, safety relief valve, pressure reducing valve.

- Manual operated valve
Auto operated valve
Auto operated valve are close, open and operate by using air or electricity. We don’t need to operate this valve by hand or manual.
we can use DCS/PLC or any other program to operate this types of valve.
They main two auto operated valve are control valve and XV.
Manual operated valve
Manual operated valve are operated manual by operator. As like auto operated valve we can’t open or close this valve by giving signal from DCS or PLC we need operate this manualy.
Ball valve
Ball valve is one of the most important valve type which is use to on and off the flow.
Ball inside the valve close and open the valve. When ball hole and flow at one direction valve become open.
What are the three types of ball valve ?
tree piece ball valve, two piece ball valve and single piece ball valve.
Uses of ball valve
Ball valve is commonly used in liquid line to only stop the flow. We can’t control the flow using ball valve. ( For fine type of control we can’t use ball valve)
Gate Valve
Gate valve is commonly used in chemical and oil gas industry. Gate valve is suitable on and off the flow.
This valve also used in liquid pipe line.
Globe Valve
Globe valve is commonly used in steam line or hot oil kind of operations. In this type we can control the addition of liquid as per our requirement.
butterfly Valve
Mostly used in large size pipe line.
Needle valve
Mostly used before pressure gauge.
Check valve
Check valve is used for one direction flow. Mostly used in discharge line of pump.
Strainer type valve
Strainer is mostly used in suction line of pump. Main objective is to prevent any “kachra”.
Safety relief valve
This is used for equipment safety. We give a set pressure value to SRV, SRV will open at its set valve and it maintain the system pressure.
APPLICATIOS OF VALVES
Used in distillation column for isolation.
Used in pharmaceutical industry.
Used in oil and gas industry.
